Swine Flu

Good day everyone,

Nothing much to report today.
I am now in Kucheng for a couple of nights. Doing SIN sector again this afternoon-- yeah, my favorite sinful SIN. Heck, I have a couple of night stay in SIN next month. Too bad, I was actually loooking forward to catch up an old German friend of mine there, but the person will be back to Germany by the time I reach Changi :(
It's been like eternity since I stepped foot in SIN

It surprised me most to see the immigration people at Kucheng Int'l Airport has started wearing the face mask last night. Euu....come to think of it, this is very scary la! **Screw u p*g!
And the Malaysia Airport Berhad (MAB) has started to put this thermal scanner at the arrival gates at KL International Airport.

I did ask a senior the other day, and I was told that all the crew were required to wear the face mask for service during the SARS outbreak. How is that?

Be back.

Short Note

Dear Diary,

Good day.
I am tapping this from the crew lounge of the hotel I am staying at. The room is filled with tobacco smoke. I just can't afford to stay longer to update this :(

I woke up late this morning. Did some sightseeing around KK town. It was kinda different feeling from my last trip to Kucheng last week since I did the sightseeing alone today. No one to ask to help me take my photos, and all that.
Nevertheless, I am still enjoying my trip here. And yes, I spent a fortune on postcards ;)

I also received a very good news last night. I (and the rest of my colleagues) will be getting some incentives from the company for the recognition by Skytrax to be the World's Best and also the fact that we able to mantained to be the World's 5 Star Value Carrier. The incentives will not be much, but I am still happy for what I am about to receive.

Oh yeah, last but certainly not least, I have also bought a new camera last Sunday. And I am verry verry happy for it.
Now I can sleep well every night ;)

Till then.

Lots of love

Choices

Dear Diary,

Happy weekend. I have just returned home from an 'unexpected' trip to Kuching, the cat city of Sarawak. It was fun and a truly eye-opening experience.

And tomorrow I am off to Borneo again, for a week trip, which means I won't be back to KL until next weekend. I am not sure what to expect, I have just never done long flight trip before. I hope it will be a good one.

It is a very quiet Sunday morning here I must say. A flatmate, F, who was also my travel buddy to Kuching had gone back to parents', and the other flatmate, Z, is still in bed. I must tell you, he really treasures deep sleep; unlike me, 5 hours of sleep suffice enough before I start a new day.

Anyway, I am actually quite doubtful regarding this--which one is going to be my soon-to-be-new camera. You know, shyt thing just happened where I lost my old iXus 700. Bengang OK!

And now I am thinking to grab a new camera.

The criteria is simple, as I know, but the options is too many to choose from. It is certainly giving me a headache! I am the type of person who likes to take my sweet time to read reviews and comments before I invest on something (I guess that is also the reason why I am still solo at this age?).

The idea is like this: I am searching for a compact digital camera that fits into my pocket easily. I do like Digital SLR (DSLR) camera as well, but since I travel a lot for work (a lot!), and the nature of my work does not permit huge things to be carried along the way, I just dont think it is a smart idea. You know, cabin crew punye manual je dah penuh satu beg troli hence I want a compact one.

I have used Olympus before, but heck the photo quality is just that bad--too much NOISE.

And also my Canon, great photo quality but the color is a bit 'untrue' or the pro term is unnatural.

I also have a friend who owns a new Nikon compact digi-cam, but yucks....really surprised the photos taken with the camera look really awful.

And I am just not a big fan of anything that uses touch screen so it is a no no for Sony Cybershot.

And all the comments above are based on my personal experience.

So what else left for me?

The answer is Lumix by Panny ;)

And here are my final Top 3.

DMC FT1

DMC FX150

DMC FS15

I have many reasons why I keen to go for this brand. One of that, is the lens they used--Leica lens. Other than that, the camera features!
Bear in mind, it is not the MP that turned my head, since it don't play much role on my needs.

But really, I fell for Panny the moment I saw the cameras.

Maybe you can help myself, to justify the one from the 3 cameras above that I should go for whether it is bad or good, worth every penny spend on the camera and the like.

I am looking forward for your words.

Love,
Zx

Oh Aussie...

Hello hello....

What a fine day :)
I am rostered to operate a flight this evening back to KUL. But, due to last minute changes, I got to stay at where I am now, for one more night. The best part is, I am flying with my housemate. We did some tour around the city this morning, we really enjoyed it. And now we are going to continue our tour to the other part of the city. Oh btw, I am tapping this entry from the crew lounge at the hotel.
Splendid!

Anyway, I received the package below not so long ago. It was sent from Tourism Australia (TA). I really have no idea how on earth TA got to know my address?

It contained:

That included these brochures and phamplets:

Ha!

Really I have no clue where did they get my address.

And the best part is, I also got this:

Ole-ole Bali, SOHO KL Pt. 3--The Food

*sleephead

I just returned to town from Sibu. Stayed there for a night and enjoyed it. It was my third visit to the small town. The set crew were very nice. My luck. Arrived there yesterday morning, and spent the afternoon lepak'ing at the coffee house, drinkin beer (not me la kan) and chit chatting.

The pick-up driver made an offer to take us around town but heck I spent the late afternoon in the room taking a nap. (Tulahh....dulu nak sangat travel. Sekarang dah selalu travel, rasenye tido kat bilik lg elok)

Later, went for dinner with the pilots and senior crew at a Chinese Restaurant called Fat Mom Cafe (the name tells everything). It was looooooong since I last ate Chinese food and boy, I enjoyed it very much. The butter prawn was sooo da*n good, so did the steamed garoupa!

And tomorrow I'm off to Kuching, my second night stay in the city. And guess what? I will be flying with me flatmate!
And I am flattered! ;)

Cant wait to do the sightseeing and all that (ade sape² nak kirim gambir Sarawak?)

By the way, this entry is the final entry of my 'foodscapade' at Ole Ole Bali. And this whole entry is about their food.

Deep fried diced potatoes and squids with thick sour cream.
Very nice, recommendable.

Bet cakap ni deco, I cakap air basuh tangan. Mane btol? Anyone?

Lemongrass mint tea.
Nah...tasted just average.

Ugh....I cant remember the name of the whole set but it consisted of BBQ'ed chicken, steamed rice, Balinese salads and Balinese chicken satay.
Surprisingly this menu came in less than 7 minutes right after the waitress left our table after takin the order. Was the meal preset or what, I tak tau... The chicken was cold. Curious, kan?

Traditional lamb chop.
So so.....~

Coconut milkshake.
Recommendable :)

My set of meal. Yet, they served cold chicken :(

Jolie's.
The cumi-cumi (squids) tasted good!

Anyway, it was all worth every penny that we paid.
I like the ambiance, very cosy, not so stuffy and they certainly deserved 2 thumbs up!

Ole-ole Bali, SOHO KL Pt. 2--The Menu Card

Short Talk:

I am still tercungap² gathering and collecting all the photos/videos taken during my graduation at MAS Academy (I lost my camera, remember?) And I have uploaded some videos recorded on the Youtube. Check out these links, if you can find me.
