It has been really long? More than a month, no?
My thousands of apologies. I had been really busy these days. Flying here and there, and once I'm home. I felt like I just wanna be alone and undisturb-ed. You know, too much communications at work.
Will update more about previous trips (a LOT!) later.

And now, I'm gonna hit the shower and voila~! I'm off to Brisbane, in Australia. This is my second visit in less than a week's time. Phewwww! I really make Brisbane looks like some kedai mamak tepi jalan in KL. LOL.

A quick one. Just wanna share something that happened recently, on my flight ex-Kuching in Borneo en route to Johor Bahru, located in the Southern part of West Malaysia.

I was standing at my station during the embarkation process when a passenger, a lady passenger, a fit early 30's lady passenger (I like to be precise here) approached me. She was carrying 2 big bags along. One, a cabin wheel bag, prolly similar size to my trolley bag and a box of same size.

The conversation went on like this:

She: Bro, take these 2 bags to the compartment. (For f**k sake, where is your 'excuse me', 'can you please help me......'?)

(Dik, letak 2 beg ni kat atas)

OK, I still can bargain her rudeness and helped her despite the dictatorship value that she showed me. But heck, I cannot! I realized the 2 bags were FREAKING FUCKING SUPER DUPER HEAVY!!! OK pardon my language, but I can't help it.

The wheel bag was roughly 10kgs and the box, from which later I learned containing Sarawak Kek Lapis was weighing no less than 15kgs. ARE YOU SERIOUSLY FUCKING KIDDING ME???
You know that the maximum weight of a cabin bag is 7kgs only and a passenger can only carry ONE (ONE = 01) and she certainly had exceeded the baggage allowance.

Realizing that I cannot perform the task, I told her..

Me: Can you help me push the bag. It's too heavy for me. (Boleh tolong saya tolak beg ni tak? Berat lah!)

She: Come on...those bags are not heavy. Can't you do it yourself? (Ala dik.....beg tu ringan je. Takkan nak suruh akak tolong kot....)

Me: (Dalam hati: Mafucka.....kalau dah tau beg tu ringan, kau angkat sendiri, bukan kau mintak aku tolong. Plus those are your bags, neither one of it belongs to me. Hence they are your responsibilities. I can be ignorant there and do my own things without acknowledging you. But I DID NOT. BECAUSE I care about my image, and the image of the company that I carry)

I surrendered and a colleague helped me.

And guess what? This UNGRATEFUL lady passenger, merely gave me a look and continued reading her newspapers after the event WITHOUT any courtesy to say 'thank you' or whatsoever.

How to say she is another typical ASIAN passenger that I had to deal everyday at work.

Please, if you are traveling on board, try to put yourself in our shoes. Cabin crew. Regardless which airlines you flying with.

Say, we have to do 4 sectors that day (e.g Kuala Lumpur - Penang - Kuala Lumpur - Singapore - Kuala Lumpur), imagine for each sector, passengers behaving like this, what will happen to our back bones, the crew back bones? Yeah, at certain extent, we do have to think about this too!
Kalau beg kau ringan, boleh lah nak ditolong, kalau 10 passenger dengan beg yang berat gile babi, ditambahkan dengan attitude yang stink, memang jahanam la tulang belakang crew tu.

This is one of the differences between Asian and Caucasian behaviors that we, the crew, see everyday at work.

I am sorry, but this is true. I myself an Asian, and I like to remind myself not to be like those typical Asian passengers when I go for a trip.

And by all means I do not practice favoritism but I do believe those Caucasians are simply cultured people. They know how to say thank you! As simple as that!

So, jangan tanya apsal kalau layan mat saleh lebih which aku rase statement yang sangat tak accurate.

I wish I can write more, but I'm sick thinking of the bags event. I better rest a bit.

Ended up couldn't find the one that I'm looking for. How unbelievable? I used to think that KL has everything ;(
And later I went to Zara. Really love this one pair of jeans. But heck.....my size was non avail.

***Ohh...the 'laddoo' made special for Diwali Day that we served on flight was damn good. Any idea where to get good laddoo in KL? Brickfield area or at Jalan Masjid India?

Anyway, I will upload the pics from my EuroTrip later in the upcoming entries (now I remember this is like a cliche where I keep telling readers that I will share the story and photos from my travels 'later' but realized that I never deliver :p).

Been dreaming about for the past few days. I woke up at night, thinking of these toys. How nice if they could become mine.

1-Leica M7 limited Edition Hermès

O Lord, I'm crying just to see how beautiful human has made this stuff. Look at the Orange color. It is so me!

It is not just a camera, it is a fashion statement.

And guess, how much is the damage? Close to 8500 Pound Sterling =\

But heck, if one's can afford Audemars Piguet and Richard Mille watch worth 30,000 Pound, why not for the camera?

But mind you, this Leica is a limited edition of 200 units only available worldwide and model ni dah lame. Came out year last year, so I believe model ni dah abes. As for me, memang la tak mampu. The price of the camera equals to my salary for one year! I simply cannot afford this brand. Even the small compact D-Lux 4 model.

But say I can buy this camera, it won't be for my daily usage, but more to future investment.

Oh money, please come to me.

2- Dr. Martens 8-eye leather boots

I know ramai yang akan buat mata when they read this. Boots ain't for me. And it won't be normal if I wear boots. So mat rempit. So mamat Oi and Punk.

Whatever it is, I must tell you that I fell for these boots!

Samalah dengan my hi-cut Converse. At the very beginning, I must admit that I did not feel comfy in hi-cut sneakers and even people around me had noticed that! But as time passed by, I started to feel alright! It is not that bad or rempit actually!

But this one is for sure. I'll get myself a pair of this anytime soon. The damage is USD120. More or less RM500.

You know, when you keep on dreaming and thinking of something, that means u just gotta have it.

But the problem is, aku nak pakai apa dengan boots ni heh? What goes well with the boots? For sure bukan dengan shorts yang short macam my wardrobe staple? Geez....tak kesah. Janji aku ade satu.

Just checked-in at the hotel. Going to Starbucks nearby to get my caffeine fix (no Starbucks in Roma though) and later to Maximillianstrasse to buy something from the Hard Rock Cafe.
Followed by a visit to the BMW museum.

The weather is crazy. At one point it's so cold that you need the glove, at another point it's extremely insanely cold that you also need the head cover AND at another rare occasion, it's WARM that you would not need the jacket anymore.

But really, Rome is splendidly gorgeously beautiful. Old world charm city wide!

I am sipping a latte at a small but very cute coffee shop by the roadside now. Starbucks couldn't beat the local espressos. And everything is fckin expensive here, REALLY REALLY EXPENSIVE!

Nah....it is not that I'm leaving for Europe for good. I am leaving KL for Europe tonight for my holiday! Yes, another holiday for this year. Woohooo.... it is my major holiday for year 2010 after those minor trips, to name a few--Phuket, Chiang Mai, Krabi, Bangkok, Langkawi and God-knows-where-else.

So basically, I'm done with packin and stuffs and now awaiting the cab to send me to the speed train station and voila, I will be one step closer to my holiday.

Will fly on MH0014 tonight bound for Rome. The journey will take approx. 13 bloody hours from Kuala Lumpur! Huh....tell me about it! Does anyone here enjoy sitting for that long period of time?! I don't think so, humans just got no choice! :p

But I won't be in Italy only. Will also visit some other cities in Europe! But first, these are my plans. Those that I'd been sketching on the note books TOP PLACES to visit during my holiday.

Was in OZ yesterday, now I am in Langkawi for a short holiday with my family. Beeeeeen loooong since my last trip to this island. The last time I was here was 5 years ago. I was with my Brit-ex at that time.

So, since my parents are coming along......haruslah my plans agak yang slow sikit. Nothing hyper. You know orang tua, jalan sikit dah penat.

But I sooo wanna go lepak makan2 at The Loaf, Telaga Harbour and take the cable car to the top of Gunung Machincang. My parents pon nak gak merasa lepak2... ;)

Malaysia Airlines to fly to Riyadh

Malaysia Airlines will commence flights to Riyadh, capital of Arab Saudi, effective 17 December 2010.

In conjunction with the launch of this new destination, the airline is offering promotional airfares to Riyadh with prices starting from RM1,200. There will be 3 weekly flights, departing Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 8.05pm and arriving in Riyadh at 11.40pm.

Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer, Tengku Dato’ Azmil Zahruddin said, “We are delighted to announce Riyadh as our third new destination for 2010, after Damman in Saudi and Bandung, Indonesia.

As a focal point for trade and burgeoning region for tourism, the Middle East is a key market for us. Likewise, the Arabs are very attracted to Malaysia as a vacation/ honeymoon destination and a potential trade partner.”

Riyadh is experiencing a development boom with new conglomerates and companies’ building headquarters in the city. It is also developing its tourism sector, offering visitors a myriad of options from safaris featuring camel markets, traditional souqs, home stay, horse riding and golf.

By the time you read this, I am already on my way to the other side of the region, Bangkok. This time around, it won't be for work but for a little vacation, or should I say, a little 'self-paid' gift for myself for my birthday ;)

And this time, I won't be traveling alone, but with a company of 6 closest friends from uni. How exciting!! Gee....

But first, I will be flying to the capital of Thailand--Bangkok, and later catch a domestic flight down to Krabi, whilst the other 6 on a direct flight from KL this afternoon.
I could be taking direct flight like what my friends be doin later but the airfares for direct flight (on Low Cost Carrier) and a-transit-flight (on full service airline) are almost similar so I decided to take the 4-leg flights to my destination (KUL-BKK-KBV-BKK-KUL).

So we will meet up at the airport and head to the hotel together. Ouhh....the hotel that we booked online looks really amazing! It's a boutique hotel (so my type), with infinity pool down to the ocean and an open air bathroom in every room. Sexy, neh?

We don't really want to pen down our plans in Krabi but I believe it will be lots of parties, makan and more parties. 3 nights in Krabi, with friends, during my birthday.........can I just say this will be the Trip of the Year? lol.

And back from Krabi, I will have a stopover in Bangkok for another 3 more nights. It has been ages since I last visited the city, I'm sure there are plenty of new things that yet I have to discover.

Wow, very sexy!

That was actually my first impression about the latest campaign by Marc Jacobs for his new perfumes--Bang.

To be honest, I haven't had a chance to visit the nearest perfume counter yet to take a sniff on Bang but I know I will like it, and I will get myself one soon. And boi, how I love the bottle!
It looks similar to the flask that I wanted to buy this afternoon!

Geez. Tak jadi beli flask tu pon sbb it is very small, way too smaller than my old Erik Magnussen flask (bukan dr segi ml/flask but the size of the flask itself). I like BIG things, really
;-)

And what a coincident that Bang is out in the market now. With a bottle resembling my (used to be) dream flask, it is simply a must thing to buy.

Well, they are not really body splash a-la Victoria Secret's packed in those flimsy plastic bottles that you can buy quite cheap in town, but those are also new EDTs.

I personally call it body splash 'coz they only have in 300ml bottle. WHAT? 300ml? That's a lot!
Man, I yang heavy user of perfume ni pon pakai 100ml bertahun baru habis. So yeah, kalau dah 300ml.....buat ala2 body splash sudah.

I have tried all. Initially I thought Biscotti would suits men, but nah....I prefer the Apple more.

Pon nak kene beli jugak nanti ;)

Takpe, end of the month I ada Dubai, I will get my Bang and Apple from there. Cheaper in Dubai than in KL :)

How are you guys doing? Camane raya ke-2? Mine, kat mane lagi.....kat sini la di KK bah.

I was at Filipino Market just now with a colleague for our dinner. I had the above food--nasi goreng ayam (chicken fried rice) yang maha dry and so-called 'cendol', KK version. Boleh laa....Cendol dia sangat besar.

The market was overcrowded with those mat rempit from I-don't-know-which-planet-they-come-from despite the heavy rainfalls here in KK. Seriously sesak sampai nak bernapas pon susah. Haha

And guess what? There was a celebrity on my flight to KK this afternoon.

It was Stacy!!! I really like her performance during final AJL 2008. She should've get the Best Performance award, at least. Sigh....

Tapi kan....apsal si Stacy tu nampak macam selebeh je tadi? Gulp! Sorry....that's my honest opinion.

Morning everyone,

I would like to start the day with a rather shockin news I received few days ago when I was at parent's place.

I had just received my credit card statement recently. And you know what? It is stated that my credit card points (it's like those frequent flyer programs) collected so far are amounting to close 18,000.

A simple calculation. I will get 1 point for every RM 1 spent using the card, so if I earn 18,000 already, I have actually spent close to RM 18,000, in the past 11 months! How outrageous!

But then, nasib baik I can 'see' those things I purchased with the card. Takde la melopong tak tau duit pergi mane. Dan Alhamdulillah, nasib baik tak pernah ada problem nak bayar.

Really, it is good to have at least a card especially for those who travel everywhere and everyday, like me but once dah swipe.....hmmm....abes!

First of all, Happy Merdeka (Independence) Day to everyone. Hope you are doing great. My Merdeka eve was spent at home, no celebration. I had just returned home from Jakarta yesterday evening. So kinda exhausted to go out and celebrate. And my off day today was spent at parent's place. I would meet them again at kampong this Raya. No off day in between. Penat.

Men's Health Malaysia 7th Anniversary Partay

Greetings everyone,

Hope this entry will finds you well :p (bunyik macam ramai sangat je yang baca blog gw nih).

How is the weekend so far? Enjoying it? Life in Kuala Lumpur is pretty mad now. The Mega Sale, the preparation for Raya and the super hot weather. Mad mad mad. But I kinda like it especially the mad 'scent' of Hari Raya that is lingering everywhere in Malaysia now. How I can't wait for Hari Raya to come, which falls on September 10, this year.

And as for my work schedule, I am blessed to be given an off day on Raya eve and also on the first day of Raya itself. Bingo!

It has been ages since MH put a bare-chested men on the cover. It was dull, until the Aug 2010 issue came out.

Enough of my pre-Raya agendas. Lets talk about the event I attended recently--The Men's Health Malaysia 7th Anniversary Party, held in KL.

I myself am an avid reader of this magazine for the past 5 years (I remember I was very skeptical to pick my first copy from the rack. It was weird)
I found the magazine to be very useful on helping me to be a better person--physically, mentally, financially and err.....my sense of fashion (?).

And just recently, the magazine threw its b-day party in downtown of KL, that was also in conjunction with the Refine & Define Challenge FInale Party. I was one of the contestant in the very first cycle, in year 2007 so I was one of the so-called VIP on that night. Kind of :p
It is a challenge whereby they pick up ordinary people, and transform them for a better person with loads of classes thrown to them to attend. To name a few, diving and dancing.

The event was held at Luna Bar. To be honest, it was my first visit to the Bar. Heard about it so often. Location-wise, it's a winning!

The whole night was great. Except that I felt it was a brief one. Sangat sekejap. Nevertheless, we enjoyed ourselves a lot (sangat banyak kupon :) )

A quick note.

I'm off to Beijing again this morning (Thurs, Aug 26th). It is my second visit to the largest Chinese city in this month alone, also my third visit there.

Already have my 'kaki' on this trip. Planning to go 'pusing2' together around town incl. a visit to Hard Rock Cafe. Never been to the one in Beijing.

Sixth Ramadhan

Greetings,

So where did I break fast this Ramadhan? Let's check.

1st day--at the airport
2nd day--in the airplane, somewhere 33,000 ft in the sky
3rd day--at home with my flatmate
4th day--in Seoul with colleagues (note: SANGAT HAZAPPP!))
5th day--at parent's place
6th day--at a Japanese Restaurant called Sakae Sushi

So yeah, I was at Sakae Sushi yesterday with Luna. It was our first time there. None of us into Japanese food very much. After all, not everyone can eat Japanese food, betol tak? So we gave it a try since we pass by the restaurant pretty often on our way to our fav cafe there (see, we both are soooo eligible to be the faces of Pavilion KL). To our surprise, the food there was really GOOD.

So yesterday, we had these.

Fried Maki. To be frank, I had no idea what Maki is until I got the first bite. It was deep fried rice cake with seaweed. Sangat sedap (untuk standard orang puasa). Tapi mahal. RM 3.90 per 2 cakes. OK OK, aku sangat kedekut actually.

Our meal set. I had beef teriyaki and Luna had grilled 'ewwyy' eel. The beef was flavorful. Very nice. Inside the bento set, there were Japanese rice, tofu, steamed egg and soba soup.

And our dessert, ice cream in Moschi skin. Deliciously scorching!

We kinda agreed yesterday that from now on, on every visit to Pavilion, we will include a side visit to a new restaurant we never been to. And dear PV management, please put this into a serious consideration. We both been very loyal to your mall. Prolly you could appoint us to become your ambassadors, at least for the F&B department? LOL

Most people who takes flight just want to get from destination A to B and don't really care about the things in between that or the people involved in the process. Have you ever wondered that if you were that great, why not fly the plane yourself? And land it wherever you want to be and be done with it? So if you don't happen to own a plane, can't fly the plane and need people to serve you food 35000 ft above the air, mind your manners and be a good citizen/flyer/human being. You catch my drift~

I'm going point form hereon for easy reading.

if you want to bring a bag that is not approved by the airline r&r and it weights like a tonnes of bricks, please put your own bag onto the overhead compartment. don't expect the crew to do it. fyi, not our job :)
if you can't eat certain food like you're allergic to all the food in the world, please pre-book your special meal. crew are not mind readers and we certainly am not a magician. crew cannot i repeat cannot conjure food outta thin air. and do not scream at us for leaving you with no choice. you do have a choice. either eat it or don't.
if you can't hold your drink. refrain from ordering alcohol from the crew. i know it's free. doesn't mean you have to take it. and if you need to vomit, please do aim your vomitus into the toilet bowl and not the sink. sink is for washing your hands. i'm sure you don't vomit into the sink at home unless it's a special made sink for vomiting then by all means go ahead. have a blast!

Well, unless you have this sink at home, then by all means enjoy the vomit experience.

if you need to use the loo, please lock the door. i know that sharing is caring but too much sharing is not a good thing.
if you need to make a phone call, please don't have to shout until the whole cabin can hear you. i'm sure that you're a big time businessman. we simply dun give a F&*( and if the announcement have been made that all electronic devices to be switched off please comply. i'm sure you're not deaf.
if you demand for a newspaper and we don't have anymore left. it means that we really have none left. it is a complimentary reading material onboard. so if you happen to have a copy please don't bring it outta the aircraft with you coz it not yours. and don't get upset just coz you came in late and there's no newspaper left. if you're so desperate for it. here's RM2 take it and buy yourself a copy compliment from yours truly.
this is especially for cheapskate business class passenger. don't ask me for anymore teh tarik packets, the whole packet of peanuts and milo for you to bring down with the excuse your grandson, godmother, father, mother, neighbour, aunty and the whole village likes it. if you are cheapskate, just admit that you are one and i'll happily give it to you.
if you think that crew are cheap sluts, you are so wrong. just becoz we're in uniform and work up in the air, we're not airheads and easy. being sleazy doesn't pay. being nice and have good manners are added points.
don't tell the crew you're a doctor and expect and upgrade to business class and first class. if you have the money and need the comfort of the bigger seat PAY! we are not obligated to upgrade you and we can't so bye bye~
don't ask us to ask another passenger to shut up. we are not voice controller. if you have a problem with the loquacious passenger, just tell them off yourself. after all, you both paid for the flight tickets therefore you both have equal rights to tell each other off. however, if you make too much of a scene, the crew have no problem restraining you. so sit quietly and mind your own business.
if you have a baby travelling with you, and require a bassinet. make sure that your baby is placed inside the bassinet and properly strapped in as per the crew's instruction. i'm sure that you don't want your baby to be a "pan-baby" when turbulence hits the aircraft. a bloody mess is not a nice scene. if you cherish your child's life, you know what to do.
when a crew asks you what is your choice of meal, just answer what you want. nodding your head doesn't help. as i've said before, we are not mind readers.
when a meal is served, please have the decency to open up the table and don't fold your arms. i'm sure you are not a retard. even a retard will know what to do.
when the crew tells you what is served today please pay attention. don't look elsewhere and when the person next to you is served the meal only you turn around and ask again what is served. we are only human and at every sectors of flight we have to repeat & repeat the same god damn thing. we are also not your personal maid.
don't take your f&*(ing own sweet time to think of what you want to eat. the rest of the world are hungry too. they need food. unless you're in a hotel or restaurant you may take your time. and all aircraft food are the same. it's not healthy and it's not fresh. if you want fresh food, bring your own!
don't ask,"is this orange juice freshly squeezed?" coz i'll answer you this," yes, it is freshly squeezed from the box i got from the galley"
do not attempt conversation with crew while they are eating in the galley, coz you won't ever get a proper answer or attention. we need food. let us eat and we'll come and entertain until landing time.
do not make a mess of the toilet when you use it coz you were toilet trained as a child. i'm sure you don't mess up your toilet at home coz you have to clean it yourself.
do not keep pressing the call button if you don't really need anything. when someone else is really in an emergency situation, we might ignore it and that person might die and you are to be blamed for it. comprende?
do not ask stupid question like," is it free seating?" when you know that it's not and your seat number is clearly printed onto your boarding pass. i'm sure that you're not dumb. if you wish for free seating, please feel free to travel other airlines that have free seating. even the cinema have seat numbers, so don't try our patience.
do not compare us with other airlines. if you love the other airlines so much, please feel free to travel with them. if you choose to travel with XYZ airline, live with it!

And Meryl Streep was GREAT as ever! So did the rest of the casts.

I am so gonna watch this again and again over the weekend. Ha!

Greetings. The holy Ramadan is here again.

For those who are not familiar, Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is also the month of fasting.

During this month, Muslims fast between sunrise and sunset and also refrain from smoking, sexual relations, and various other desires and emotions hence it is named the holiest period for the Islamic faith (purification as some may say).

And like other Muslims, I perform my duty happily and faithfully. I believe that this is the best time to watch out the food intake and spend lesser. Spiritually and financially enriching ;)

So, I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone out there who fasts, a Happy Holy Ramadan. May The Almighty reward us with His mercy and forgiveness.

Dear Diary,

I have a confession to make. I am 'sick'.

I don't know what are the causes of the 'sickness'. But what I know is I have a mixed feelings about it. Sometime it makes me happy, but often the case it does not. It is weird, I know.

It is about my purchasing power. I just realized that I shop a lot these few months. I tend to (over)spend for things I don't actually need.

Today, I was in town again with a good buddy. The initial plan was to meet up for a dinner at a Japanese restaurant. So we met, and we dined. And the evening went by until we found out ourselves in the mall again, doing some shopping. And I got what I want.
As soon as I reached home, and opened the wardrobe.....all I can see is a MASSIVE stack of newly purchased items that are still in the paper/plastic bags. Among the items are 20 plus pairs of new undies (excluding the 5 that I bought today!), more than 10 new shirts, 4 pairs of new jeans, 3 pairs of moccasins.....and what's not that I didn't see in the wardrobe just now. They are all new, all virgins, all are still un-worn!!!!

This is insane!!!

Geez.....I know I gotta stop this. But how?? Shopping is like the next best thing after sex and I hate to say this but it really is a great great great therapy.

Yet, I am planning to purchase the L'occitane toiletries kit that I saw today, next week. Baru dapat Origins, kot......

Dear Almighty, please give me the strength and the will to stop this 'war'. It is scary.

I am in Labuan now. Will be here for 2 days. It's a lovely lovely island. Very laidback lifestyle.

For those who don't know, Labuan is another duty free port in Malaysia other than Tioman and Langkawi. And what would be a visit to Labuan without going to the duty free shops, the island's known attraction.

Whooooaaa......chocolate madness! Chocs at duty free shops here are 50% cheaper than those found at the airport.

My only problem now is which flavor should I start first? Ha!

Ma have just returned to KL few days ago after a 2-weeks trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the pre-Hajj visit. It was her third visit to the Holy town of Makkah. As per Sabre timetable display on 15JUL10, Malaysia Airlines has filed 3 weekly Kota Kinabalu – Tokyo Haneda schedule, which is due to launch from 15NOV10 with Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

Also from 15NOV10, 2 weekly Kuala Lumpur – Kota Kinabalu – Tokyo Narita will be canceled. Kuala Lumpur – Tokyo Narita routing will then increase from 9 to 11 weekly.

Good morning everyone,

How are y'all doing? Ready for the weekend? Speaking of weekend, I am just gonna miss this weekend again, due to work I have. Will be away from KL until Monday but, yeah...I guess it won't be that bad actually since I have the whole Sunday for myself. So the plan is simple, to lay down by the pool side enjoying the ray of Sunday sunshine reading a magazine/listening to my ever loyal iPod........and sipping iced-Coca-cola (only). Sounds nice? Yeah, maybe....provided there is no screaming kids at the pool. Haha

Oh btw, I managed to spent the whole day at home yesterday. I did not go out, like I normally would do on my off days. It was a true bliss to be able to wake up with a cup of coffee, having the whole day for myself, doing nothing but eat, sleep and facebook!

Since I was lazy to go out, plus the hot and humid weather, I decided to have pizzas delivered for lunch (and left over for dinner). The order was all done online.

One thing I noticed yesterday was the pizza company have improved their website, with GPS tracker! Isn't that wonderful that customers now be able to see where it goes, I mean the pizzas? Aiyo....the idea is so surreal.

Really, I gotta agree that internet connection + computer technology does make wonders more than it does to harm people.

Greetings everyone,

It is Wednesday evening. I am tapping this from my home. Just landed from Phnom Penh in Cambodia. Was in Penang yesterday and tomorrow is my off day. Will do the spring cleaning tomorrow, hopefully :p

My mom and dad flew to Jeddah in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia this afternoon for the 'Umrah' (pre-Hajj). It was great to see them at the airport right after my arrival from Cambodia, and be able to send them boarding the aircraft later, tempat aku mencari rezeki. They will be back in 2 weeks time. And I am hoping they will be back safe and sound.

Anyway, guess who was on my flight this afternoon?

It was Tan Sri Jins Shamsuddin! Ha....It was like a dream come true to meet this VVIP for real!

I remember when I was a kid, he used to be the hero in many Malay movies. And believe me, at 76 (according to his birth date on Wikipedia) he still looks charming and so handsome like in his golden days yet full of charismatic and confidence and very calm and down to earth too, in that case, that I did not realize I was really talking to him until I reach home and see our photo together. And he looked younger than his actual age too, really, prolly because of the aviator he was wearing. LOL.

Oh I am so happy for many things happened today.

Today, 07/07/10 was certainly a great great day for me. You just gotta agree with me.

Hurrayyyy!!

Finally, the loooong awaited moment has arrived. I am finally on my annual leave now.

I will be away for a much-deserved beach holiday in Phuket for a week! Ngeeee.........I am so excited. Everyday tengok orang naik flights pegi holiday, now, this is my time (first time actually) pegi holiday since saya kerja terbang sana sini.

So basically, nothin much planned so far. But I wanna go Thai this holiday. LOL. You know, eat Thai food, indulge in Thai massage, sip Thai mocktails on that famous Phuket beach....all things Thai lah senang citer.

Greetings.

Happy Sunday people. A not so nice Sunday for me koz I gotta work. I miss having brunch on Sunday with friends in town. Now another one is missing from the group, Betty it is. She was just married last week and today is her wedding reception on the groom's side. And later next month, she will move to Melbourne in Australia to follow the husband, who is currently working there (and waiting for his PR status. y.u.c.k.s).

Btw, I'm off to New Delhi this evening. This will be my forth visit to the city.

Seriously rasa malas nak pergi.

The reason being, I am now down with fever after my trip to Sabah. And bad stomach ache from the fried noodle I had at Tawau airport. **screw u kakak

And the great thing is the weather in Delhi now is forecasted to be very HOOOOTTTTTTTT!

Aiyo KL yang 29 deg pon dah kuyup berpeluh. Since the weather in Delhi now is extremely hot, and my current condition at its not-so-best, I decided that I will not go out do the sightseeing like I normally do in Delhi. I rather stay indoor and finish read a book. I am now engaged to this book titled How Starbucks Saved My Life by Michael Gates Gill. It is a good read I must say.

Haaa.....makin demam la balik KL nanti. It really reminds me of my first trip to Dubai last year. Weather was around 50 deg Celcius. And it was 4 in the morning!!!!

Dear Diary,

This entry could prolly be the lamest entry of all entries in my blog. But......who cares? :|
I am just superrrrr happy now. Really. Happy that I could crack a smile from ear to ear ;-)

This evening, I got to buy things that I wanted to. Things that been haunting me for the past 6 nights since I went for a window shopping in town with a girl pal.

You know, you just gotta buy that stuff (what ever in that matter) when you keep on thinking about that, in bed at nights after you saw it. Like in my case, it happens all the time. Ha ha. When I first saw it on the display racks, jual mahal....then when I got home....teringat sampai tak tidur.

So I came to the store again today and purchased these.

3 pairs of jeans.

Ha! I know I know. This is outrageous. I never buy 3 pairs of jeans in a day.

I really love the 'special effects' on the jeans hence I bought the whole collection that came in 3 altogether.

Guess I had mentioned earlier too that I am so gonna grab whatever things that come in set with variety of colors like this and this.

Does anyone of you know if I fall in the group of color-maniac disorder? Much regretted I believe the answer is yes?

Now my aim is to look for the sneakers that will go along with the jeans.

How was the weekend? Mine was a great one. I had a loooong weekend. Made a road trip to the southern part of the Peninsular with uni mates, and really enjoyed it.

MAS and AirAsia X should co-pilot efforts to achieve nation’s aspirations

AIRASIA X has been lobbying its cause aggressively in the media locally and abroad to fly to destinations operated by Malaysia Airlines (MAS).

On the surface, its argument appears logical: Open up Sydney, Seoul, etc., as that is best for the country.

There are two sides to any argument and I would like to take this opportunity to put forward the MAS point of view.

A bit of history: Under the domestic rationalisation exercise in March 2006, MAS was asked to give up the operations of the rural areas in Sabah/Sarawak and hand them over to AirAsia Bhd.

MAS was awarded 19 trunk routes to operate and AirAsia was granted both the trunk and non-trunk routes (about 96 routes). AirAsia subcontracted non-trunk routes to its wholly-owned subsidiary, Fly Asian Xpress Sdn Bhd (FAX).

FAX operated the service from September 2006 to September 2007. There were countless complaints about the unreliability of its services which severely and negatively impacted communities, tourism and businesses in Sabah and Sarawak.

The Government asked MAS to take back the rural air services and MAS’s wholly-owned subsdiary, MASwings, took over on Oct 1, 2007. During that one year of FAX’s operation, it was paid more than double what MASwings received for the same scope of services over the past two years.

FAX was subsequently renamed AirAsia X.

In just some three years of operations after dumping the rural air services, AirAsia X has obtained rights for nine routes: London, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Mumbai, New Delhi, Taipei, Beijing and Shanghai.

Flight rights and hubs

Recently, AirAsia X announced it has been given rights to fly to Seoul. But to date, there has been no Government announcement. AirAsia X was recently also granted the rights to fly to Male and the rights were transferred to AirAsia.

Excluding the rights to fly to Seoul and Male – assuming this is official – 90% of AirAsia X’s routes overlap with those operated by MAS. On the other hand, only 17% of Tiger, Singapore Airlines (SIA) and SilkAir’s routes overlap.

We will stand up and be counted. Yes, MAS lobbies the Government. So do AirAsia and AirAsia X. As an airline, we have transformed and we are fighting for our rights, as are AirAsia and AirAsia X.

Let me outline our viewpoints and why we stand behind the facts – not blind accusations – that we presented to the Government:

What makes Suvarnabhumi and Changi great hubs is that these airports provide customers with many destination choices.

Some 93 airlines operate out of Suvarnabhumi to over 187 cities in 71 countries. About 85 carriers operate from Changi to more than 200 cities in 60 countries.

On the other hand, some 50 airlines operate from KL International Airport (KLIA) to 100 cities in 44 countries.

What makes Changi a good hub is the number of destinations it offers. This gives consumers greater choice. For example, someone who wants to fly to Moscow has to go via Changi as there are no airlines flying to Moscow directly from KLIA.

If someone from Melbourne wants to fly to Moscow, he is likely to go via, say Changi, and not KLIA. AirAsia X can fly 10 times a day to Melbourne and this passenger is still more likely to use Changi.

If AirAsia X is serious about providing customers “with choices”, it should fly to new destinations. There are 34 or more new destinations that currently do not have direct flights from KL. All these destinations are within the range of AirAsia X’s A330-300s.

AirAsia X has been lobbying the Malaysian Government saying that it deserves to get the rights to fly to any destination because it has bought so many aircraft.

Yet, it is not willing to consider any of these 34 cities because it claims that these cities do not make economic sense.

Amongst the 34 are Fukuoka and Nagoya in Japan, and Chongqing in China. All these routes are operated by both SIA and Cathay Pacific. SIA also operates to Ahmadabad in India and Cairo in Egypt.

One of the destinations which the Transport Ministry lists as being granted to AirAsia X is Paris/Orly. Interestingly, AirAsia X CEO Azran Osman-Rani told MalaysianInsider in an interview dated April 28, 2010: “It (the rights) has yet to land on my desk. Until it does, we cannot initiate detailed plans”.

If AirAsia X’s argument is that it does not have planes or the correct aircraft, note that it has two A340s, each of which has a 12-hour flying range. It can also operate the A330s with one stop in the Middle East.

In addition, AirAsia X has applied for and been granted the rights to fly to many cities which it is not exercising. These cities include Amritsar, Cheongju, Pusan, Tianjin, Xian, Bahrain, Sharjah, Berlin, Manchester, Dublin, Vienna and Moscow.

AirAsia X is not keen to operate to these new destinations as it is well aware that it takes years of investment to make a route profitable.

Case in point is Abu Dhabi. SIA flies to Abu Dhabi. Yet, AirAsia X pulled out from Abu Dhabi after just three months in operation, citing that the route is not profitable.

When MAS flies to a new route, we are likely to incur losses in the first year up to the first five years as we spend money to develop awareness in the new destination and expand the market. This is an investment we are prepared to make, as short-term losses can result in long-term profits. In the long run, it is good for the country and gives consumers more choice.

For example, for the past 20 years, we invested tens of millions (of ringgit). Even today, we invest some RM100mil annually in marketing costs alone in Australia.

If AirAsia X is really serious about “choices for the people”, it will fly to destinations where it has the rights to. But the reality is that AirAsia X is only interested in MAS’ routes. Is this then in the best interest of the country?

For the record, we have been competing with various global, full service carriers for the past 60 years and competition is not new to MAS. We welcome competition as it means that we have to constantly transform ourselves – which is what we have been doing intensely in the past four years.

Passenger numbers

Let us also set the record straight on the information that AirAsia X has been providing to the media to support its claim to fly to Sydney and Seoul.

Azran claimed in the same interview that “some 80,000 Malaysians were flying to Sydney indirect.”

PaxIS (passenger intelligence services) data (collated by the International Air Transport Association), which captures all full service airline transactions, shows that in 2009, only 2,848 passengers travelled from KL to Sydney via Singapore. In 2010, the number is reduced to only 2,359. It would be good if AirAsia X can substantiate its allegations.

For Seoul, Azran claimed: “We should see a reversal of the trend of negative growth in 2009 to a positive growth in 2011” on the assumption that AirAsia X were to fly to Seoul.

For the first three months of 2010, tourist arrivals from South Korea grew by 26% compared with the same period in 2009. MAS’ passenger growth was up 48%. The trend is already strongly positive.

Both MAS and AirAsia X bring in tourists to the country. Tourism studies indicate that there is a 12 times multiplier effect to the country.

This year, we expect to fly in 5.5 million passengers. We expect this to generate some RM12.7bil of tourism dollars for the country.

However, most of AirAsia X’s passengers are in transit. For example, AirAsia X has said that 80% of its Australian passengers on AirAsia X self-connect to other destinations after arriving in KL.

In other words, while AirAsia X increases traffic into the country, most of their passengers transit in KL to other destinations. Although this makes the arrivals figures look higher, these passengers may not spend much money in Malaysia. This means less economic value to the country.

However, if AirAsia X operates to new destinations and invests in promoting Malaysia, it will go a long way to attract tourists from different countries and boost tourism in Malaysia.

In July 2008, when we met the Transport Minister, we proposed a clear framework for the aviation sector.

This framework will involve airlines, airports as well as a range of services to airlines and airports, MRO (maintenance, repair and operation) and catering. The sector contributes about 4% to Malaysia’s gross domestic product. Beyond its direct contributions to the economy, the aviation sector is a key enabler of tourism and commerce.

It is never too late to start. Malaysia needs a clear aviation policy – one that offers real choices to consumers and that benefits the country. It must be a long-term, comprehensive and impartial policy that will ensure that the country and rakyat takes precedence.

One that will ensure that KLIA becomes a regional hub, on par with Changi and Suvarnabhumi and that all local airlines – MAS, Firefly, AirAsia and AirAsia X – are given equal treatment, with consideration given to what is best for the country.

At the time we made the proposal, AirAsia was not advocating this. I am glad that it now thinks that this is a good idea.

The winner should not be the one who shouts the loudest in the media. Nor lobby the hardest. We need to learn to compete and collaborate, and work with the Government to achieve the nation’s aspirations.

Apa khabar? How are things goin' on your side? I am already back to KL. My weekend in Taipei was a splendid one. But now, fever is catching on....so it kinda pissed me off since I'll need to go to work tonight. Going to work with illness is no fun....not only for my job but I believe every job in this world pon. But in my case, if I don't turn up for the flight, there will be no money for me by the end of the month. No work, no money....

Cross fingers things will be alright. I am solely depending on medications I got and also green tea, which I found to be helpful.

Anyway, I will be away for Shanghai tonight. This will be my first time flying to the city after my first trip was removed November last year. I was hospitalized during that time for bad sore throat.

Heya,

I'm off to Taipei tomorow (Friday). This would be my second time visiting the city and yet, I will be heading to Taipei again in May. It's good!

Since I have a very long lay over in the city, spending the whole weekend there (it is a privilege!), I keen to kill my time at these 2 places...walking, eating and shopping. Whatever fun!

How on earth this could happened to me? :(

I met 2 super VVVIP yesterday and today, both at work.

Scene 1:
As I was q'ing to get my bag scanned at the airport (you know, the process you need to undergo before they let you go to the Departure Hall), I was approached by someone asking me if he could cut the Q. OK I thought it was weird at first. It happened at the Airlines Staff counter, and he was not wearing any of the airlines' uniform. 'This is for the VIP'. Heck....like I care? You cut the q, you cut the q....
But my jaw dropped reachin' the floor as the VIP came nearer. It was Claudia Schiffer, the legendary German supermodel. Ouch!
She was standing right before me and there you go.....I forgot that I have a little thing called 'camera' inside my bag! Pffftttt.......

Scene 2:
Bollywood superstar, Amitabh Bachan was on my flight just now to Langkawi. I thought dapatlah I snap a photo of us together2......but he slept all the way to Langkawi. Jangankan gambar, a signature of him pon tak sempat nak ambik :(
To those yang very into Amitabh Bachan, he will be in Langkawi for 3 nights. The group is attending a conference there and they are stayin' at The Westin Hotel, as the event DJ explained to me. So, who ever yang die hard fan tu, perhaps you wanna try your luck in Langkawi tomorrow? oooppss....too much info, ka?

I'm off to China tomorrow, mintak2lah ade Zhang Ziyi on board. Paling koman pon Michelle Yeoh lah.

Hello,

Been long, kan? How are you zachba readers doin'? And how is the weekend?
My Saturday was a boring one. It was the most unproductive Saturday I ever had ever since I can imagine. Sleep-eat-check out the facebook...that kinda stuffs (repeatedly from morning until night). Boo!

Today (Sunday), I'll be working again. And I'll be away from KL for a few days ;-)

Most of my days in this month will be spent traveling in/to China--Kunming, Shanghai and Taipei (Taiwan). I am mostly excited for my Taipei trip though I dislike the city. Weird, kan? I was there last year.

Anyway, below are some of the photos taken last month during my visit to Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia.

For many reasons, I have to admit that I do love this city. It is not like KL, Jakarta is either you love it, or you hate it. Let's put aside the massive traffic congestion during peak hours. It is insane!

What I love most about the city is the people! Jakarta has certainly produces so many good looking people than anywhere else in S.E Asia, other than Manila. For me, KL is not the standard to compare with, sad to say.

My colleagues and I were at a mall called Plaza Indonesia which is similar to what Suria is in KL. The ladies seemed to be putting a lot of efforts just for the sake of going out to the mall--princess curly hair, nice make up and very sexy outfit whereas the situation is different in KL where people couldn't be bothered of what they wear and how they look. Betul tak?

It's either they carry Hermes' Birkin or Chanel 2.55 or Louis Vuitton. I did not see Coach or 'middle class range' luxury handbags in their arms.

And the guys look fit and healthy and in this case, trendy too. They are not afraid of colours!

One more thing that I notice is the people are very proud with the black hair that God had given them. Colored hair looks soooo yesterday. Kire rambut blond and burgundy tu fashion kampung macam tu. Bila fikir balik, alahai....fesyen jinjang Sungai Wang amatlah sadis, really!

Went to the supermarket at Plaza Indonesia, and I saw this Mie Kerinting. Hey, that's me! Mie Kerinting! Haha

And this was my dinner that day. I really thought their satay will look and taste like our satay. But a picture say a thousand of words, so you know la kan. According to my colleague, it was cow's tongue satay. Aiyoooo...pengsan! So to say, I ate one stick only.

Hey hey everyone...

How was the weekend? Did you have a good one? Well, I did. I enjoyed my weekend a lot! I was in Kuching the whole week last week actually. I got to visit so many new places in the 'Cat City' as well as experienced many new things during my visit there. Will tell more on that later.

But for now, I am excited to tell that I'll be going to Australia this afternoon. For the first time. Wohhoooo......

Malaysia's CLEO 50 Most Eligible Bachelor 2010

How's life? Pardon my long lost, I was just busy with work.

Anyway, I was in town yesterday evening to catch up with a friend over a dinner. And voila! The much awaiting CLEO EB 2010 is now on newsstands!

Ha....how can I forget those fame, glam and limelight I received when I was one of the Bachelor in 2008's contest. I did not won, but hey.....it was a great great great experience. Thanks to Betty Mak Nenek, the one who introduced me to the competition.

I managed to flipped through the magazine. And I reckoned a couple of guys in this year's competition.

Tak lari flight steward. Every year mesti kene ade satu steward.

Carleef. He was also one of the contestants on What Women Want, a manhunt search organized by 8TV few years back. Both he and me used to do a printed commercial before. Oh....didn't I tell you that I also did commercials (TV and printed)?

Hola peeps,

I am back in KL. How are you doing?

My trip to Peking was really fun. I enjoyed the trip very much. The sightseeing, the shopping and not to forget the food! OK, aku tak la memilih sangat....as long as takde porky, aku makan je, but that only happens when I'm abroad la kan. Not that I practice the same principal here in Malaysia since the choice is aplenty. Banyak benda lain boleh makan.

Anyway, for a very short stay in Peking, my colleagues and I who were all first-timers to Beijing, managed to visit few interesting places in the city incl. the Olympic venues and the massive Great Wall of China, which apparently cost us 2 hours to reach there from the hotel we stay.

Thanks to our tour guide as well, a local man who was actually trying to speak in American accent but tak menjadi. He seemed to be be trying so hard to look like a cool 'gweilo' but in the end, we couldn't understand a shit he was saying.

Sikit-sikit.....'You know.....' and then later.....'You know........' in American accent. I leave it to your imagination. Dalam hati aku.....'OK I don't know a shit what you have in mind, and you don't need to pretend as if I know everything about your country'. Ha ha.

My advice is be yourself. People communicate to pass the message. But when the message is not clearly understood, haram J la tak guna the accent yang tak menjadi tu kan. Ala-ala 'rrr rrr' je lebih. Chet!

Anyway, I will post more pics from the recent travel on my next entry. Gotta dash now.

I feel like ages since I last updated this blog of mine. How are you doing? And how is the weekend?

Mine is a boring one. Boooo.....I am down with fever (been 3 weeks now), running nose and dry coughs. I hope it is nothing serious. Really! Nevertheless, I still have work to perform. I will be flying off to Beijing (Peking is the old name) tomorrow night (Sunday). This will be my very first time visiting the capital of China.

What I like most about the trip is I will be flying with the same person I flew with to Dubai last month, and to Surabaya November last year. Wooooow...yes, I am so excited.

Travel is somehow easy when you have 'kaki' to go out with. Get the idea?
